Topic: Problem - Login I see you already solved it. A note for other people having this issue: you have to set your webpage as your homepage. Read here for more info about this: http://www.viewbook.com/support/Site/WebpagesHomepage |

Topic: moving image within box on the webpages from page This is a much requested feature. We’re in the progress of releasing an upgrade within a couple of days with a ‘cropping’ or ‘panning’ option for the images in your webpage. With this upgrade you can also choose a different first image. You’ll receive an e-mail when the new upgrade is online! |

Topic: moving image within box on the webpages from page Wondering if there is a way to move the photo around within the box after dropping the presentation into the webpage – the “Small”, “Wide” and “large” image size choices all leave the image cropped and chopped in funny place. Thanks! |

Topic: FF3 Mac Issue? Hello, I am trying to embed a viewbook swf into my Wordpress (2.6) blog, and everything looks good except in FF3/Mac. I basically don’t see any Flash on the page. Has anyone else had issues with this? Here is an example URL: http://www.gregschultz.me/portfolio/philips-peapod-home-ultrasound/ Thanks! |

Topic: Background to the album? I agree totally! I like your product very much but it could be more versatile with background ability. Also the ability to move the captions to the top right, so it is more visible. |

Topic: Images not available july 20 -07-2008 Viewbook uses a service called S3 by Amazon to host the images you upload. At about 9:06 AM PDT their service experienced an outage that was affecting our service as well as thousands of other companies around the world that rely on the S3 service to host files. At 5:13 PM PDT all services were fully restored. All other data was available and all other functionality was running as normal. We apologize for the inconvenience. For more information visit: http://status.aws.amazon.com/s3eu-20080720.html |

Topic: Unavailability weekend of 14/15 March Viewbook was not available from March 14th 16:00 CET to march 15th 15:00 CET because of some difficult to solve networking issues. Traffic was not reaching a server on the other side of the US. Several parties, including our two hosting partners at Joyent and EngineYard worked together to solve this difficult issue. EngineYard & Joyentput a notice on their websites about it here: http://engineyard.wordpress.com/2008/06/14/possible-peering-issues-with-upstream-provider-level3/ https://help.joyent.com/index.php?pg=forums.posts&id=796 Finally Joyent and EngineYard came the conclusion that the problem had to do with some high-level internet parties somehow blocking the requests from the IP address of one of our servers. When Joyent assigned us a new IP address we were online in minutes again. We want to make clear that this is absolutely beyond our scope and even our hosting parties. Network problems can be very hard to tackle. “They’re usually something insane in a core router somewhere that you can’t get to and don’t know who to contact about it, and the diagnostic tools you’ve got to work with rarely give unequivocal results.” says our man at EngineYard. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. |

Topic: Price too high Hi Alberto, Thanks a lot for your feedback. About the price, I understand your comments about this. It would probably be great for a large bunch of people if we could lower the price of Viewbook. But consider this: At this moment we give 100 images for free and almost all the Viewbook features. We’re not Flickr (which is actually Yahoo!). Which is, as you know, a very large company. We’re not. Flickr shows ad’s on their site, we’re not. That’s why Flickr can lower their price. If you buy a package tool, you need to host it yourself. That would cost, let’s say $5 for hosting/month, $1.5 for the package/month, plus let’s say $1 a month for your domainname. That makes at least a total of $7.5 a month, if you get it cheap! You can’t instantly change your images then, because you have no Image Manager like Viewbook. So add that to the total price and you see that you soon get near or over $12/month. Indeed, Viewbook is designed for professional use, people have no problems to pay when it saves them time, or give other advantages in their profession or business. We’re thinking about making Viewbook more accessible to a broader audience. Thanks again for your feedback, and to all, let us know what you think. BTW: The Standard account is $12/month, not €12/month, which makes, €7.6/month. |

Topic: Price too high I’m not always on the photo business, so… I love doin’ it, I love Viewbook, and I’d love to get the Standard contract But I’d pay for it 12,xx euros per year, not per month. Actually, for Viewbook I’d switch the money of my Flickr Pro account – but not more Until now, you give me cool features, ok, but, don’t take me wrong… it’s a photoshow. For less than that money I can buy a package tool (let’s name http://www.monoslideshow.com/, eg) to achieve a very similar result On the contrary, I’m giving you visibility from my blog (and from Flickr too! see http://www.flickr.com/photos/hexholden/sets/72157604520334049/) – let’s not say the content I understand that your core business is about professional photography – that’s great. The Pro is not for me, but it’s great. I’m suggesting that for the “pro-am” user the trade-off is not balanced. The features of the Basic account are too restricted, the price of the Standard is too high IMHO, of course Best, Alberto |

Topic: Viewbook Goals, Activities and Tasks I’m a three year user of Flickr, and actually tired of that system remaining always the same. I love the stream over there, but they don’t offer high level, good looking quality presentation tools like you do – hey, did I told you that I love Viewbook? :) I embed single presentations in blog posts, and used a portfolio to create a visual story. And would like the upload feature directly in Picasa, with an automatic resize option (I usually publish 800×533) I’m an amateur photographer, but a professional journalist. So I’m not in the business of selling photos. But I’d like to enter: I received requests for publication via Flickr a number of times. So I need a system to… be contacted :D |
