UPDATE: When writing this post our engineers at EngineYard fixed this issue. All presentations should display correctly now on Internet Explorer 6. Thanks a lot for your patience.

Hello All,

There is an error on Internet Explorer 6 when opening presentations. A ‘Can’t open presentation’ message appears while the presentation does exist (previously an ‘Account Suspended’ message appeared).

This only happens on Internet Explorer 6, and as far as we found out only on Windows XP.

The reason for this error has to do with a very specific problem with Flash on Internet Explorer 6. See those two posts for the technical minded: http://blog.mediacatalyst.com/pivot/entry.php?id=281 http://notetodogself.blogspot.com/2007/03/flash-in-ie6-xml-compression-problem.html

We’re working hard to fix this issue, and expect to have it solved very soon.

We keep you posted on this.

As I told you in a previous message, it’s also happening with Firefox 2.0 and IE 7. Both on Win XP. I hope you can fix it soon.

All the best.

We tested Both Firefox and IE6/7 on XP which work fine now.

Rien,

I still can’t open my galleries… tried IE 6 and 7 and Firefox on Win XP and doesn’t work. What can be happening this time? I’ve also tried creating a new webpage but both don’t open the galleries I already have. I’ve changed the server from USA to Europe but didn’t work neither.

Thanks for your patience.

Ari,

Please send me a screenshot of what you see, including the URL to your presentation at: support@viewbook.com. Then I can take a closer look at your situation.

Rien,

I’ve cleaned the browser cache, tried a new presentation (Test) and updated Flash Player (9.0). I also installed and tried Opera browser 9.27 and the problem persists. Nothing helped to solve my problem. To make it worse, when trying to upload another image – maybe the problem is in the database access – the uploader freezes, as mentioned by other users. Hope you can find out what is happening…
