Absolutely Nothing Works!

Hi,

I needed to build an urgent one day portfolio to show some client some stuff, I turned to Viewbook because it looks pretty and should impress. First of all I uploaded four photos and fine, then I went to upload more and after the little loading bar reaching the end it says in red letters to the right RETRY.

So retried again, and again, and again, and again….

So I tried to sign in to this forum, it asked me for the usual crap to put in the boxes and near the top there was a box with absolutely nothing written beside it so I didn’t know what was supposed to go in, My password again? my user name again? my name? my mothers maiden name? I had a random guess and put my user name in again and pressed enter absolutely nothing happened.

Gave up on Viewbook and went to the other one that people told me looked half decent and didn’t have Web 2.0 style forum interaction so people could leave daft comments and teenagers couldn’t say stuff like ROFL that’s pics funny, I went to Carbonmade free portfolio creator and made an account, tried to upload a pic and that stalled every single time as well, it just hanged on upload and the wheel just kept on spinning and spinning.

So here I am back on Viewbook and it still doesn’t work, I’m on the latest Safari and Firefox (trying on both browsers) for the Mac and If I can’t get it to work properly I’ll just have to go to Flickr.

PS: I forgot to say that on the forum issue I managed to log in suddenly because 12 hours later I got a message in my inbox all of a sudden telling me welcome to the forum, so I finally managed to log in.

Hi, I desperately need a serious, good looking presentation and portfolio website that I can use quickly to display work to a client, if all the bugs aren’t fixed here in say six hours, does anyone else have advise on a reliable one? because if not I have a chance of loosing out on an important contract.

Ray, It seems you have problems with your flash player. Both Viewbook and Carbonmade use Flash to upload images.

You can try to install the latest Flash Player, or another webbrowser, or both.

Sometimes Flash can be really buggy on certain computers without a clear reason. Maybe try another computer, see if it works, or another location.

The strange thing however is that you seem to have uploaded 4 pics without a problem. What is your computer and what browser are you using?

Oh sorry, I see you’re using Safari and FF on Mac. That should be fine.

Maybe you can give it another try, see if it works now. We did some recent updates.

And By the Way, you should be able to upload files up to 10MB.
